GSO offers very HIGH quality elliptical secondary mirrors for the people who want to build their own telescopes or DIY project. For years, GSO has made dobsonian telescopes sold under various labels. Users of these scopes know the excellent quality of the optics included, and they have a well-deserved reputation for being the finest mirrors in their price range. We are now pleased to offer virtually the entire line of GSO's Newtonian optics in our market.

GSO's elliptical secondary mirrors are perfect for those who want to build their own telescopes or replace mirrors in older ones. Ranging in aperture from 28mm to 104mm, these mirrors are made from optical grade BK-7 glass. All mirrors have a reflective aluminum coating with a reflectivity of 92-93%. The aluminum coating is protected by a silicon oxide (SiO2) over-coating.

GSO uses high-volume, state-of-the-art, high quality manufacturing and test lines. GSO guarantees diffraction limited performance, but their mirrors typically have a mirror surface quality of 1/16 wave RMS at least, and often better. This very smooth mirror surface results in excellent optical performance with practically no light scatter. Although it does not provide individual test reports, GSO tests each mirror via laser interferometry before shipping.

Besides elliptical secondary mirrors, we also offer matching GSO parabolic primary mirrors.

80PHQ inherits the optical design of the PHQ family, adopting a 3+1 quadruplet lens structure which contains two pieces of ED glass that can effectively reduce chromatic aberration and enhance clarity and sharpness. It’s worth mentioning that all astrographs from the PHQ family come with an integrated lens combination rather than simply placing three major lenses and a corrector together in a line. Didn't imagine it would be so big. This is some serious machine-worked piece and easy to adapt to any tripod with multiple configuration options. The price was a bit high but the product is well worth it as you will only buy on in your life time.
