With a mount head weighing 5.5lbs, it can carry an 18 lbs payload without needing a counterweight. Applying iOptron’s multi-decade experience creating precision mounts, the HEM15 brings this vision to reality.

Its black anodized all metal CNC machined body is not only appealing to the eye, it’s a rugged platform that will perform at the highest level for many years to come. Unique features such as an electronic friction break allows the mount safely stop even after an abrupt power loss.

A HEM15 mount can be controlled by a computer, either via ASCOM/Commander for a Windows PC or a third party INDI driver for a MacOS software; a SmartPhone/Tablet via iOptron Commander Lite or an App like SkySafari; or a Pi device via INDI driver.

The L-Ultimate is a 3nm dual band filter designed to drastically reduce the effect of light pollution. The 3nm isolates the nebulae's emissions into H-Alpha (red) and OIII (green-blue). It blocks light pollution, maximizes the signal from nebulae, and darkens the sky background. It also blocks artificial light from mercury vapor lamps, high and low pressure sodium vapor lights, and unwanted natural light caused by the emission of neutral oxygen in our atmosphere, maximizing the transmission of the main emission lines of the nebula in OIII (496nm and 500nm) and H-alpha (656nm). Used with DSLR, color/MONO CMOS and CCD, this filter is suitable for telescopes with an f-ratio of f/4 or higher (slower).

Strong, steady and easy to setup absolutely worth the price. Low guiding error even at near payload capacity (4.5kg). Easy polar alignment using fine adjustment knobs. Low payload capacity suitable with small refractors best for traveling. With payload near capacity, weight management is essential because the counterweights included almost can not balance the kit.
