An extraordinary innovation in mount design...Now with a new payload!
Following up on the success of the iOptron CEM60 center balance equatorial mount, we at iOptron are excited to introduce two new medium payload center balance mounts. The CEM70 and CEM70G are new standard bearers for equatorial mounts in the 70lb payload segment. Both models are packed with advanced features however the CEM70G is the first of its type with an onboard optical guiding system increasing tracking accuracy while streamlining the components resulting in a more portable imaging setup.
All New iPolar - get accurate alignment even without seeing the pole star! The CEM70 series mount has an integrated electronic polar finder scope known as the iPolar. This tool ensures the accurate alignment of a telescope, even when the pole star is obscured. There are large levers on the quick-lock drive engagement system; these large levers make it easy to snap the gears into place.
Shows polar alignment without seeing Polaris:
iPolar features:
Fast and easy to use
High precision (30 arcsec)
No need to see the Pole Star
No need to rotate the mount during alignment
Unique imaging enhancement technique
Smart plate solving
On screen instruction during alignment
Capable under poor sky visibility condition
Windows 7 /8.1 /10, 32bit or 64 bit, with Microsoft .NET Framework 4.8 installed
Innovative features
Retaining the inherent properties of the center balance design, these relatively compact medium payload mounts deliver what astronomers expect in an efficient accurate portable mount. With precise GOTO pointing and accurate tracking (PE <±3.5 arcsec) the CEM70 is a solid performer for observers and imagers alike.
Innovative operational features such as the internal iPolar electronic polar scope, easy lock drive gear engagement (levers large enough to use with gloves), an advanced cable management system for the mount, iPolar, guider, and camera, and cumulatively assure users the CEM70 and 70G designed with their needs in mind.
Above: CEM70G version includes three USB 3.0 ports and a iGuider module; CEM70 version includes three USB 2.0 ports
GOTONOVA® GOTO technology
The CEM70 is equipped with the most advanced GOTONOVA® GOTO technology, making it one of the most powerful and accurate GOTO mounts available. Its database includes over 300,000 objects. The other features include an adjustable counterweight bar, magnetically loaded gear system, gear switches on both R.A. and DEC axes, screw/worm type latitude adjuster and built-in or customized cable management system. The CEM70 - a new category (and payload capacity) of mounts for viewing and astrophotography.
GOTONOVA® computerized control system The revolutionary GOTONOVA® computerized control system is by far the most technologically advanced automated goto and tracking system available on the market today. With its large celestial object database, including all of the well-known galaxies, nebulae, star clusters-- not to mention the planets, sun and moon-- you’ll be able to enjoy star gazing with the simple push of a button. Both axis motors are built into a small single unit with optical encoders that provide accurate GOTO and tracking. The control system also allows you to slew the telescope at different drive speeds, keeping the object within the telescope's viewfinder for as long as you wish.
The most easy to understand controller on the market The GoToNova hand controller is much easier to use than other similar products. The hand controller is more intuitive with menu categories better organized. It also has a larger LCD screen with more lines of content compared with the competition. Using the easy-to-use hand controller and its large LCD screen, you can easily set up your telescope and select where you want to go.
32-Channel GPS All CEM70 telescope mounts come standard with a built-in 32-channel GPS module for fully automated operation and alignment. Simply turn on the Go2Nova® Controller and the GPS module will automatically synchronize your telescope location and time with the Go2Nova® computerized control system. View celestial objects without having to manually punch in the date, time, latitude or longitude.
WiFi Support on Android/iOS/PC/MacOS (Standard on CEM70G, optional for CEM70)

PACKAGE CONTENTS
iOptron® CEM70 telescope mount (#C70A), or iOptron® CEM70G mount (#C70AG)
Go2Nova® 8407+ hand controller
Stainless steel counterweight shaft
12V/5A AC/DC adapter (100V-240V, with 2.5mmX5.5mm plug)
Hand Controller Cable (6P6C RJ11 to RJ11, straight wired)
This newly designed 5kg (11lb) counterweight (CW) uses compression ring to lock the CW onto a CW shaft. Comparing to traditional "point contact" locking mechanism via a locking screw and a pin, the compression ring provides more secure locking method through distributed surface contact.
This CW is designed for following iOptron Mount:
CEM70/CEM70EC/CEM70G
CEM60/CEM60EC
GEM45/GEM45EC/GEM45G
CEM40/CEM40EC/CEM40G* (for late version with 28mm CW shaft)
iEQ45 Pro
iEQ45
It can be used for other mount with a 28mm diameter counterweight shaft.
With these adapters, you can install your mount onto the sturdy yet portable iOptron Tri-pier.
Tri-pier Adapter for Astro-Physics 400/600E/Mach1GOTO (#8036-AP)
Note: Due to the payload limitation of the Tri-Pier, this adapter/Tri-pier combination is not designed for CEM120 with heavier payload. Use at your own risk. This adapter can be modified to mount a CEM120 onto your own pier.
Optolong L-eXtreme Clip Filter for Nikon-Z Cameras
Take light pollution reduction and deep sky object isolation to the extreme with your Nikon Z camera and this clip-in filter from Optolong! Designed to sit just inside your photography camera, this filter from Optolong can give your camera a boost in both camera lens and dedicated telescope setups. If pushing your deep sky astrophotography setup to the limit is your goal, then the Optolong L-eXtreme Dual Band Light Pollution Nikon Z Clip-In Filter is for you!
The Optolong L-eXtreme Dual Band Light Pollution Nikon Z Clip-In Filter is a dual narrowband filter designed to enhance your views of deep sky objects. With 7nm bandpasses and above 90% transmission on both the Ha and OIII wavelengths, this filter will make emission nebulae in particular 'pop' as light pollution, skyglow, and all other visible wavelengths are aggressively blocked — an effect especially apparent on astro modified cameras that have an enhanced view of the Ha wavelength! When installed in your Nikon Z camera the rest of the night sky will fall away, leaving the awe-inspiring faint nebulosity and detail of these incredible deep sky objects. Honing your Nikon Z's sensor in on these details has been made simple with this clip-in design, which slots into the camera body between a compatible lens or a dedicated telescope imaging train — no permanent modification required! This easily reversible astrophotography upgrade allows you to chase the wonder of nebulae one moment, and then quickly remove the filter to image incredible broadband targets next session (or even mid session)!
