An extraordinary innovation in mount design...Now with a new payload!
Following up on the success of the iOptron CEM60 center balance equatorial mount, we at iOptron are excited to introduce two new medium payload center balance mounts. The CEM70 and CEM70G are new standard bearers for equatorial mounts in the 70lb payload segment. Both models are packed with advanced features however the CEM70G is the first of its type with an onboard optical guiding system increasing tracking accuracy while streamlining the components resulting in a more portable imaging setup.
All New iPolar - get accurate alignment even without seeing the pole star!
The CEM70 series mount has an integrated electronic polar finder scope known as the iPolar. This tool ensures the accurate alignment of a telescope, even when the pole star is obscured. There are large levers on the quick-lock drive engagement system; these large levers make it easy to snap the gears into place.

iPolar features:
Retaining the inherent properties of the center balance design, these relatively compact medium payload mounts deliver what astronomers expect in an efficient accurate portable mount. With precise GOTO pointing and accurate tracking (PE <±3.5 arcsec) the CEM70 is a solid performer for observers and imagers alike.
Innovative operational features such as the internal iPolar electronic polar scope, easy lock drive gear engagement (levers large enough to use with gloves), an advanced cable management system for the mount, iPolar, guider, and camera, and cumulatively assure users the CEM70 and 70G designed with their needs in mind.
Above: CEM70G version includes three USB 3.0 ports and a iGuider module; CEM70 version includes three USB 2.0 ports
The CEM70 is equipped with the most advanced GOTONOVA® GOTO technology, making it one of the most powerful and accurate GOTO mounts available. Its database includes over 300,000 objects. The other features include an adjustable counterweight bar, magnetically loaded gear system, gear switches on both R.A. and DEC axes, screw/worm type latitude adjuster and built-in or customized cable management system. The CEM70 - a new category (and payload capacity) of mounts for viewing and astrophotography.
GOTONOVA® computerized control system
The revolutionary GOTONOVA® computerized control system is by far the most technologically advanced automated goto and tracking system available on the market today. With its large celestial object database, including all of the well-known galaxies, nebulae, star clusters-- not to mention the planets, sun and moon-- you’ll be able to enjoy star gazing with the simple push of a button. Both axis motors are built into a small single unit with optical encoders that provide accurate GOTO and tracking. The control system also allows you to slew the telescope at different drive speeds, keeping the object within the telescope's viewfinder for as long as you wish.
The most easy to understand controller on the market
The GoToNova hand controller is much easier to use than other similar products. The hand controller is more intuitive with menu categories better organized. It also has a larger LCD screen with more lines of content compared with the competition. Using the easy-to-use hand controller and its large LCD screen, you can easily set up your telescope and select where you want to go.
32-Channel GPS
All CEM70 telescope mounts come standard with a built-in 32-channel GPS module for fully automated operation and alignment. Simply turn on the Go2Nova® Controller and the GPS module will automatically synchronize your telescope location and time with the Go2Nova® computerized control system. View celestial objects without having to manually punch in the date, time, latitude or longitude.
WiFi Support on Android/iOS/PC/MacOS (Standard on CEM70G, optional for CEM70)
