Sky-Watcher AZ-Gti mount tripod

Sky-Watcher’s Evostar apochromatic doublet refractors are the perfect blend of superior extra-low dispersion glass and affordability.

Sky-Watcher Evostar 72ED OTA main

The Evostar refractor lens assembly utilizes a proprietary combination of matched lenses, delivering tack-sharp stars with charcoal-black, contrast-rich skies.

Sky-Watcher Evostar 72ED OTA Extra low dispersion lenses

All ED glass elements are fluorite-based and feature our proprietary Metallic High-Transmission Coatings™ (MHTC™), virtually eliminating all false color while the internal baffle helps prevent stray light from affecting your photography.

Sky-Watcher Evostar 72ED OTA baffles tube

Like the optics, the tube is beautifully crafted using aluminum and finished with a black diamond metal-flake finish.

Sky-Watcher Evostar 72ED OTA 4

Using a doublet refractor instead of a triplet has some advantages: less glass means less weight, less weight means a less expensive telescope, so you can dedicate more money for your camera or laptop while benefiting from a lightweight astrophotography rig.

Sky-Watcher Evostar 72ED OTA 2

The Evostar 72ED comes in a foam-lined aluminum case with tube rings and a V-style dovetail plate.

Revolutionary Wi-Fi Control

Easy Integration with any Tripod

The AZ-GTi includes an adjustable aluminum tripod with built in pier extension. The mount can attach to a tripod using a 3.8-inch-16 thread and includes an adapter for ¼-inch-20 thread sizes, making it capable of mounting to nearly any tripod.

Automatic Shutter Release Control

No need for an intervelometer timer with the AZ-GTi! With a 60-second preset exposure setting, the AZ-GTi can trigger a DSLR using the auxiliary shutter release cable. Once the camera is plugged into the mount and a shot is fired, it will continually shoot 60 second exposures until the cable is removed.

Freedom Find™

For those looking for the ultimate visual tracking mount, the AZ-GTi features Sky-Watcher's Freedom Find™ dual-encoder system. These encoders are separate from the mount's GoTo system and allow you to disengage the clutches and manually move the mount around the sky without losing your initial alignment.

The AZ-GTi comes with the mount head, pier extension, and tripod.

About Sky-Watcher

Sky-Watcher was launched in 1999 featuring a modest line of Newtonian and refractor optical tubes, with distribution in Europe and Asia. In 2000, Sky-Watcher released their first series of Dobsonian telescopes, and two years later answered the rising popularity of digital SLRs with their first version of the famed German Equatorial Mount, the EQ6. Today, with a full product line that includes Dobsonians, APO refractors, EQ mounts, and photography products, Sky-Watcher has grown into the most popular telescope brand worldwide.
