Optolong L-Pro Clip Filter for Canon EOS-R Cameras (EOS R/Ra、EOS RP、EOS R5、EOS R6)

The Optolong L-Pro clip-in filter reduces the effect of artificial light pollution and natural skyglow for visual observing and for photographic applications with color CCD and DSLR cameras. While the Optolong UHC and CLS filters help to block the effects of light pollution, they pass light only in the green and red part of the visible spectrum. The L-Pro filter has a more sophisticated multi-layer coating that not only passes green and red light, but also blue and yellow/orange light. This results in a more natural color cast in images of deep-sky objects. The filter also suppresses IR wavelengths for photographic applications.

The Optolong L-Pro clip-in filter improves image contrast by passing light from many types of nebulae while selectively blocking the transmission of light from high and low pressure sodium vapor and mercury vapor lights as well as skyglow caused by naturally occurring neutral oxygen atoms in Earth’s atmosphere. The filter passes light emitted by hydrogen atoms (at 486nm and 656nm), oxygen ions (at 496nm and 500nm), nitrogen ions (at 654nm and 658 nm), and sulfur ions (at 672nm). These bands of light are emitted by emission nebulae such as the Orion and Lagoon Nebulae, planetary nebulae such as the Ring and Cat’s Eye Nebulae, and by supernova remnants such as the Veil Nebula. The filter can also help improve the contrast of stars and galaxies against the background sky, especially in photographic applications. EOS-R L-Pro Clip Filter - Important Caveat

Due to the peculiarity of Canon R series micro-single optical path, aperture design and light incidence angle, slight dark angle interference will occur on both sides of the frame when using this interference filter for imaging. There are two solutions to solve peripheral interference phenomenon：

Cut out the interference areas of pictures.
By post processing via RAW (attach video tutorials).

This imaging run ended up being a marathon that took about 22 hours of processing, using Optolong L-Pro filter for imaging. Its absolutely perfect!

*ลดล้างสต๊อก* กล้องดูดาว William Optics ZenithStar 103, f/6.9 OTA Gold

I bought the Zenith Star 103 last year, it had 30% discount and it is my first telescope. I use it with a 0.8 reducer on an AM5 mount and connected to a ZWO 183 mono camera. This focal length (575mm with reducer) is versatile, it can be used especially for Lunar imaging and it is also quite fit for some of the most popular deep sky objects too. The moon photography I get with this scope is excellent, beyond what I expected. I also captured some great images of Orion Nebula, Horsehead, the Pleiades, M33, Rosette, Flaming Star etc. After one year what I can say is that I love this scope, I will certainly keep it. I might buy another one with a shorter focal length to cover different targets, maybe Redcat 51 or ZS 61. The convenient focuser and its 360° rotation ability in Zenith Star scopes is something I'd like to keep.
