The GSO GS990 Dobsonian is a user-friendly telescope for the serious amateur who wants serious deep-sky light-gathering. It shows you faint deep space objects that are simply invisible in smaller scopes. With a visual limiting magnitude of 15.7, the GSO GS990 is ideal for observing faint nebulas, galaxies, and star clusters from a dark sky site – all the faint fuzzies outside the solar system that fascinate us.  At Thai Excite, a Dobsonian is no dead-end-street. The GSO Dobsonian line is particular model serves a very clear purpose, to offer a large aperture and an excellent image quality at reasonable cost. This 16" truss Dobsonian adds lightweight and portability to these advantages. Set-up is easy by inserting the truss tube onto the rocker box and you're ready to navigates through the night sky by manually moving the tube up or down, or side to side.

If you are using a heavy eyepiece, the new Tube Balancing System helps to balance the weight of the scope. The aluminium side bearing can be tightened for a higher friction. If you would like to install an heavy camera, the side bearing could be moved by a total 25mm along the tube.

All GSO dobsonian use optical quality BK7 glass, cooling fans built into the rear cell to decrease cooling times, also all dobs use a roller bearing on the azimuth surface providing dozens of support points for smooth swivel motion. The deluxe model comes with 2" Micro 10:1 Crayford style focuser and 1.25" adapter.

Simply-made, but rock stable. The GS990 16” Truss Dobsonian reflector will reward you with bright and faint deep space and solar system views and years of trouble-free observing enjoyment.

I bought this item several months ago and I have to say that I've been quite impressed, It's very easy to use and once set up works fine. It is relatively easy to use as you basically look through the glass window at the night sky and your scope should see what it sees, assuming that you have set it up correctly. Overall a decent finder scope.
