GSO has enhanced the mechanical design of some of their most popular eyepieces to create an effective and innovative eyepiece that can be used not only for visual observations, but also for photography through a telescope. This new series afocal / camera projection eyepieces is perfect for use with compact Digital or SLR cameras. Afocal photography is the simplest way to take a photography through a telescope - by taking a picture with a camera through the eyepiece directly. Eyepiece projection photography is similar, except that the camera lens is removed and light from the eyepiece projects the image directly on to the camera sensor/film. The GSO afocal / camera projection eyepiece makes it simpler by including a T-thread for attaching a compatible compact cameras or DSLRs with the correct T-ring (sold separately) to the eyepiece for either afocal or eyepiece projection photography.

The top of this 1.25" eyepiece features a standard T / T2 male thread (M42x0.75) that can be exposed by unscrewing a threaded guard. Using a T-ring specific to your camera brand (not included), you can connect your camera easily to this eyepiece. This combination can be inserted into any telescope with a 1.25" focuser tube. The outer sleeve / barrel of the afocal photography eyepiece can then be adjusted to move upward or downward for optimum viewing performance, and can be extended until you have reached its perfect viewing position for your imaging needs.
