The GSO 6" F5 reflector houses a big 150mm parabolic mirror with 80% more light grasp than a 4.5" mirror, for brighter, more detailed views of night sky curiosities. Of course, deep sky observations are also pleasing. The f/5 focal ratio also makes it convenient to photograph brighter deep sky objects such as galaxies, nebulas and star clusters.
The very high contrast leads to detail visibility near the physical limitations. Pinpoint stars over the entire field of view make observing galaxies and nebulae an aesthetic delight. GSO guarantees a difraction limited optic.
Most instruments of this size only have a 1.25" focusers. This is OK for visual use, but limits photographical capability. The GSO Newtonian has a 2" Crayford focuser and sufficient back focus to be able to reach focus with DSLR cameras. With the supplied 2" extension tube you will also reach focus with regular eyepieces providing the best of both worlds. The extension tube, and both the 2” eyepiece holder and the 1.25” adapter use non-marring soft brass compression rings to hold eyepieces in place, rather than simple thumbscrews that can scratch your eyepiece barrels.
With a 6” (153mm) diameter, 750mm focal length, f/5 focal ratio. Parabolic mirror. The mirror is made of B270 “water white” optical crown glass that is free of internal stress and striae. B270 glass is equivalent to BK7 in performance and optical quality. The thermal stability of B270 glass is generally better than the soda lime float glass used for the mirrors of most reflectors in this reasonable price range. The mirror is ground and polished under computer control for guaranteed diffraction limited performance, coated with 94% reflectivity aluminum, and overcoated with a protective layer of silicon dioxide (quartz) for long life.
The GSO GS500 also allows you to calibrate your mirrors to obtain the highest quality images that the telescope mirror is capable of. Use a philips (cross-head) screw driver to keep both primary and secondary mirrors in alignment. Such screws makes it easy to get the best out of your GSO GS500 telescope which has great reputation for its best-in-class mirrors.
For the primary mirror, a fully adjustable 3-point flotation system metal cell holds the primary mirror. The open frame of the cell allows the mirror to cool down to ambient temperatures quickly, so you can start observing sooner. Large hand-tighten color-coded push-pull collimation and collimation lock knobs make it easy to collimate the primary mirror with no tools required.
6 x 30mm straight through fully-multicoated dark crosshair achromatic design. The finder has a long and comfortable 13mm eye relief. It focuses by loosening the trim ring behind the objective lens cell, screwing the lens cell in or out to focus, and tightening the trim ring to lock in the correct focus. The finderscope mounts in a quick release bracket that slips into a pre-installed metal mounting shoe beside the focuser. The bracket is held in place in the mounting shoe by a single large hand-tighten chrome-plated knob that maintains the finder’s collimation, even if the finder is removed between observing sessions.. The bracket has two hand-adjust collimation screws that work in conjunction with a third spring-loaded post in the bracket. This makes collimation faster than the traditional three- or six-screw collimation methods used with conventional finder brackets.
iOptron CEM26 quiet slewing at MAX speed of 6º/sec (ฟังความเงียบการทำงานที่ความเร็ว MAX 6º/sec):
Like their predecessors, the CEM26 is designed with portability in mind, weighing in at only 10 lbs it can support up to a 26lb payload an incredible 2.6 mount weight to payload ratio. The key to enable such ratios is the CEM design focuses the mount and payload weight directly on the center of the tripod rendering “natural stability”.
Building on the legacy of earlier CEM models we have added features for convenience and functionality. A positive lock gear engagement system (easy to use even when wearing gloves), Built-in Wi-Fi enabling unparallel connectivity and recordable permanent periodic error correction (PPEC) to repeat optimal PEC training sessions. Regarding functionality the CEM26 delivers precise pointing and accurate tracking. The CEM26 sets the new standard for compact equatorial mounts.
The center-balanced design mount puts the weight of the payload at the center of gravity allowing for greater natural stability. Other features include an adjustable counterweight bar to prevent obstruction with the tripod. And polar aligning is quick and accessible all the time since the polar scope is not blocked by the declination shaft.
The CEM26 is equipped with the latest advanced GOTONOVA® GOTO technology, making it one of the most powerful and accurate GOTO mounts available. Its database includes over 212,000+ objects. The Go2Nova® Hand Controller is intuitive to use and its large 4-line LCD screen simplifies the process of setting telescopes and locating objects.
The CEM26 mount either has an AccuAlignTM optical polar scope or an integrated electronic polar finder scope known as the iPolar (depending on option). iPolar ensures the accurate alignment of a telescope, even when the pole star is obscured.
iOptron iPolarTM - the smart electronic polarscope for everyone (Optional)
Shows polar alignment without seeing Polaris using iOptron iPolar:
This GSO Newtonian of course has a parabolic primary mirror for an optimum performance. GSO has a reputation for making some of the finest mirrors in this price range. We guarantee diffraction limited performance, but in our experience the GSO telescopes are even much better than that. One particular advantage is the very smooth mirror surface that results in practically no light scatter.
Moon and planets can be viewed even at 250x with very good sharpness and contrast. Tiny details in moon's craters become visible. You can see Saturn's Cassini division, belt details in Jupiter's atmosphere. With 150mm aperture a huge number of gas nebulae, star clusters and galaxies are within reach. Some galaxies even begin to unveil their spiral structure!
The Newtonian Telescope is ready for astrophotography with many good features for beautiful astrophotos.
