Celestron and I had a tumultuous relationship for nearly 15 years and yet I am still buying their products. They make great telescopes and wherever you go you can be looking at some of the most interesting skies within 10 minutes of switching your car ignition off. It is a high tech device which is great for a techie guy like me who is into drones and will not buy anything that does not use an app as support. Luckily I had the ThaiExcite guys behind me. Without them I would not be writing this review. Celestron was founded in 1964 and until the internet days a amateur astronomer would go to the shop and buy a telescope and have a discussion with the shopkeeper about the things that he did not understand about the device then go home and enjoy the skies and the relaxation that comes with it. Fast forward to online shopping, after sales service and product support. Normally a customer would turn to the device website to get help and that help should be specific to the problem. In my case a firmware flash issue with the HC. Any info provided by the Celestron's website was either incorrect or incomplete. Their product support don't cut it and this has been a gripe of mine for years. This leaves after sales support which was provided by ThaiExcite who like me have been around telescope for a long time. Without them supporting me (we worked well as a team) I would still be waiting on hold while on a support call with Celestron looking haggard and starving. If you are thinking Celestron, you are making a good choice only if you get it from ThaiExcite otherwise I can guarantee frustration. There are good bulletin boards out there that will help you some but at the end of 3 days looking for a solution to my problem ThaiExcite came up with it. It truly has been pleasurable working with the guys at ThaiExcite finding a solution for the firmware update.
